Reform Success Story
How Reform saves us money.
Our Company has always used pre-printed invoices that were 4 copies, NCR paper. Even when ordering in bulk, these forms are expensive, and do not have a long shelf life. They also are hard to read on the last copy or two. By using Reform to layout a copy of the printed invoice, then porting the data form the existing output of the invoicing program, we have setup to print to the HP LaserJet 4050T with multiple trays. Now we can have several copies of the invoice on different color paper, adjust the invoice as needed without expensive reprinted, and add pictures of products being promoted right on the invoice.
We are also changing the way other reports are printed. The company has always preferred graphical printouts, and we have been porting data form our application software to a PC running MS Access. This port must be handled manually at the end of day, and is becoming an unneeded step. By using Reform with our custom application on the Unix server, networked to the Windows 98 PC running Reform, we can create reports without bringing in a different programmer or dealing with another language. This gives us a shorter development and faster resulting progress from the analysis and reports generated.
By combining Reform and FaxPress on the Windows 98 PC, we can send faxes directly from the application software. No need for expensive Unix fax software. We even get an e-mail sent to the originator of the fax, by passing data through Reform, to FaxPress, back to a text file disguised as a printer, and onto the Unix e-mail program. Seamless fast, easy.
Reform has become an integral part of the in-house application, and since it’s spooler runs quickly is very stable, it appears to be seamlessly connected to the application. The users have no idea the data is passed from the program to Reform, then on to the printer or FaxPress. The just know it works. Seamless, fast, easy.
Thanks & keep up the good work!
